Age Concern Birmingham CEO, Becky Bews, today met with Goalden Gate Superdraw Jackpot winner Carol Annetts at the charity’s fantastic Communitea Cafe. Carol was invited to the beautiful cafe on Boldmere High Street where she discussed how much winning the £1,000 had helped her as she was currently in the middle of relocating to a new house.
Through the help of the Goalden Gate Superdraw, Age Concern Birmingham has managed to raise over £28,000 towards it’s fantastic Befriending Service.
Age Concern Birmingham have been running the successful Telephone Befriending Service since 2004, which runs across Sutton Coldfield. The charity also run a South Home Visiting Befriending Service. Both services are extremely popular with many elderly people benefiting from regular calls and visits from a team of volunteers dedicated to reducing loneliness in the local area.
