Blues continue great support for Birmingham Children’s Hospital

Over the last decade Birmingham City Football Club and Midland Sporting Association Ltd have been working together to help raise funds through the Goalden Gate Superdraw to help support the club’s Community Trust. In that time though, Birmingham City also decided to donate £100 of the money raised each month to Birmingham Children’s Hospital and the overall donation now totals an amazing £17,500!

Helen Rawnsley, Fundraising Team at Birmingham Children’s Hospital said “Each and every day we are overwhelmed by the kindnes of our incredible supporters just like Birmingham City FC. Birmingham Children’s Hospital cares for thousands of children and their families each year, and it is only thanks to donations like these that we can continue to do more for sick kids.”

Helen continued ” Your Goalden Gate Superdraw ticket sales have helped to not only raise awareness about Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity but also raise vital funds.”

Birmingham City’s Community Trust which also benefits from the Goalden Gate Superdraw helps support the development of young people and to inspire and increase aspiration in the local community. Recognising the potential in all young people Birmingham City strive to provide excellent services that promote community cohesiveness and allow people to shine at every level.

Wolves and MSA Ltd Support ‘Heads Up’ Campaign

At the recent FA Cup Third round tie between Wolves and Manchester United both Wolves and MSA Ltd decided to donate money raised through the Goalden Gate Superdraw to support the ‘Heads Up’ campaign coordinated by the Royal Foundation.

As much as £675 was raised on the day through the Goalden Gate Superdraw which is a fantastic amount of money and will go along way to helping support the education of mental health awareness.

The ‘Heads Up’ campaign was set up by the Royal Foundation with the aim to change the conversation on mental health using football as the catalyst and all donations received will be split between the charity partners, Heads Together, Mind, CALM as well as a grassroots pot that will go towards supporting organisations delivering mental health projects within local communities.

It was apt that Wolves and MSA decided to support this campaign for this match as all FA Cup third-round ties were delayed by one minute to encourage every one taking part and watching to think about their mental health wellbeing. In partnership with Every Mind Matters, the Football Association hoped that this would get everyone to consider how they might support their own mental health as well as that of their friends and families.
