Getting To Know : Bath City Football Club

For the last four years MSA Ltd have been working extensively with Bath City Football Club to help grow a lottery income from the ground up. With much support from the club’s Commercial Manager, Bob Chester, the Goalden Gate Superdraw has now brought in over £44,000 in that time.

Football Clubs worldwide have the ability to reach communities and the people within them like no other industry and Bath City officials are well aware of that. As a community-owned club they have been able to build on the success of their award-winning Bath City Community Sports Foundation by increasing their contribution to the City. Bath City have already successfully collaborated with Kick It Out, Woman at the Game, Time Bank Plus, Age UK BANES, Bath Welcomes Refugees, Bath Amnesty, Autism Unseen, B&NES Council and BEMS+, and are developing a social impact strategy to guide their work in the coming years. The key pillars of their draft strategy are health and wellbeing, education and employment, social inclusion and sports participation.

MSA’s Promotions Manager, Kevin Kay, had the following praise for Bath City “Bath City are one of my favourite teams to work with as they are so well run and have a lovely ground in a beautiful city. It does help when you have someone at the beneficiary such as Bob (Chester, Commercial Manager) who works tirelessly to help with the lottery amongst everything else.”

Everyone at MSA Ltd is looking forward to continuing to raise as much money as possible for the good causes of Bath City Football Club.

Through the services they offer, such as the befriending telephone service, Age Concern Birmingham aim to enrich the lives of older people in and around Birmingham. Age Concern Birmingham are based on Boldmere High Street and that is where you can find their Communitea Cafe – I personally recommend the bacon rolls!

During lockdown, Age Concern Birmingham set up a COVID-19 support line which has been inundated with a range of issues facing people at this unprecedented time, and to be able to offer those struggling with loss was a nice way of helping and supporting people at a time when they need it the most.
